Ilwaco, Washington Ghost Tales When I lived here as a kid, the house my dad rented (we used to live two blocks from the sore thumb tavern) was haunted by an elderly man that apparently had lived during a time before the house had indoor plumbing because he was fascinated with the toilet because it would flush by itself, he would turn the microwave oven on in the kitchen, and open and close the refrigerator door, he would make sure my sister and I were safe or giving the feeling of reassurance that everything was ok by squeezing our shoulders in a friendly manner and then would go back to doing whatever he was doing at the time, it wasn't scary just annoying. The first time we were introduced to the elderly ghost, I was watching HBO, and the movie ''The Shining'' was on the scene where the blood flows out of the elevator was the scene that I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, the refrigerator open and shut and the microwave oven go off, I thought my Dad made a snack and I asked out loud if he wanted to see it with me, and there was no one there but I did feel a hand squeeze       my shoulders as if reassuring me that all was right, well, I freaked and turned off the TV and ran up the stairs to my room and cringed under the covers, until morning, I told my Dad what had happened and made the remark that that is why we gotten this house at such a cheap rent price. The neighbors across the street cleaned our house, they would clean   downstairs but refused to go up stairs, because something ''not quite right up there''...      . Submitted by John       Categories: home, man Ilwaco hospital: a night nurse was making rounds when back by the surgical ward, she witnessed a white robed figure sacheting down the hall minus any visible legs. She danced for a few moments and then instantly vanished. That night nurse had no trouble staying awake for the rest of her shift!. Submitted by Night Nurse While attempting to settle his wife in for a treatment at the Ilwaco hospital, a gentleman witnessed a woman in the patients room walking across the room, THROUGH the table and then she proceeded to exit out THROUGH the wall on the east side. The attending nurse entered the room to find this gentleman pale and shaken, stating ''I just saw a ghost!''.
