Spokane, Washington Ghost Tales I live in a tiny town outside of Spokane called Deer Park. Its not known for ghosts or hauntings but We know which houses have for ''strange Occurrences'' then other. I moved into the house in 2008 and never could have guesses anything was wrong. I will be cleaning while the kids are gone at school and I can hear loud and clear footsteps going down to our back yard when I am the only one here. You can hear them coming up sometimes too, but when I look to see who's coming through the door no one is there. I will take a bath late at night when the children are asleep and I hear someone open the door but as I mentioned before no one is there. Dishes will fly off our table. We have tried an experiment where we set a bottle cap on a plate and went about our conversation and the bottle cap flew directly at me. I am not scared I'm used to the presence now...but it would be better if it were gone. It was very common for kitchen cupboards to open by themselves, or to slam closed. Less often, dishes would fly out out of the cupboards and shatter against the far wall. Once during a Christmas party, there was a loud knocking at the door; when someone would go to open it, no one would be there. It happened   5-6 times over the course of an hour, and finally one guy noticed there were absolutely no foot prints on the porch or sidewalk, even though it had snowed after all the (live) guests arrived. There were many nights when the family would be disturbed by thumps, bumps and the sound of loud voices. Many of the events centered around the son of my parent's friends. In the garage, the dad found Eric (the son) playing on the trailer. The trailer hitch was on the floor and 5 yr old Eric claimed he unscrewed the rusted bolts with his hands. The hauntings escalated over time, and eventually the family decided to move. The night noises escalated. The neighbors called late at night to tell the family their little girl was on the roof in her nightgown. They didn't have a little girl. One night the dad was outside late, and saw a young girl's face in a window and couldn't figure out which room she was in. It was only then that they realized there was a room in the upstairs that was borded up. When they broke the wall, there was nothing there but a little girls' toy tea set. They moved the next day. .
