When our children were small my sister and I took them to the park at the end of Edgerton Street in Manchester, CT. They played around the pond and wanted to walk in the stream leading away from the pond. We agreed to let them. As we walked, the banks of the stream bed got higher. Up ahead there was a small bridge, and we thought it would be a good place to exit the stream. I climbed up, and my sister was ready to hand the kids up to me. I reached for one

of the kids and suddenly felt a presence behind me. I turned to find a young man standing there.
He was dressed in trousers and a linen shirt with
|
suspenders. He asked what I was doing. I explained that I was helping the kids up out of the water. He asked if I needed help. I told him I was okay and asked who he was and if he lived close by. He told me that he lived in the Cheney Mansion. At that point my sister looked at me and shook her head. I made a little more small talk with the young man and looking at my sister who looked as if she had become shocked.
