In 1977 or 78 when I was about 14 I saw a shadowy figure looking down at me from a staircase in the old stuff John's community Center in Middletown. It appeared to be number. I could make out the wimple and part of the upper body area. The building had at one time been a convent buttered where no nuns currently living or working there, and the guiding was mostly unoccupied.

Wilcox island has a wandering spirit. If you go to the river at sunrise in the late fall or winter when there are no leaves on the trees you can see the silhouette of a person moving around. But you can see it's not a real person.
