When I was young we lived in Stamford, CT. Along the Mianus River bordering on Greenwich CT at the end of a cul du sac. The home we lived in was new but it was built on an old revolutionary war site. Alongside the house was a small road that served as a driveway to a home in Greenwich bordered on each side by a rock wall purportedly dating back to revolutionary times.
An old woman lived there by herself and never had visitors. But often my brothers

and sisters (and parents) would often hear (at night) many voices coming from the property as if there was a large crowd of people having a social get
|
together.
When we would walk over to the rock wall and look over (it was only a couple of feet high) the voices would stop and there was no one there. This happened repeatedly for many years until we just got used to it.
One of my sisters had a bedroom that faced the wall. After one night of sleeplessness she woke up the next day and complained to my mother that she hurt on her back. My mother checked and there were deep long scratch marks starting from
