The woods down by the river is haunted by the ghost of an old settler who was killed by his wife. This happened in the 1800s. She killed him down by the river and threw his body in the river. An innocent man was convicted of the murder and executed. It was not until years later that they figured out it was his wife who had done it. But she had already died of old age by the time. Now the area of the murder is haunted. I wonder what happened to the

man who was wrongfully executed. Does anyone have any info on him. If he's a ghost he must be really angry.

Comment by Clarice: I wonder if this is somehow linked to the sound I heard of a man coughing when there was no one there at all last Saturday morning as I walked my dog. The cough was literally right behind me in my ear almost. My dog was scared and some crows above us were going mad making a racket. I don't know how I heard what I heard, but I stopped to let the person past thinking it was a jogger or a mountain biker. But nobody was there at all, either above us, below us, or across the river.
