While eating at the Jamison Tavern in Freeport my daughter age 13 suddenly stared toward the corner of the room with her mouth hanging open. She could see a dark shadow about the size of a child. The shadow would disappear then reappear at different places in the room as we ate.
The waitress said it was the ghost of a girl who died there and some people see her like a regular child and ask if she lost her parents.

I remember growing up in Freeport, address 9 Main Street. I had many experiences there, the most memorable being when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. I was sent to my bedroom as punishment and told to sit on my bed.

As I sat there crying I felt weight on the bed beside me and then an arm around me trying to console me. Needless to say I screamed and ran downstairs where I was promptly sent back again by my father.
My aunt Sarah was a medium and had told us that there was a spirit of a mentally challenged child that died in one of the rooms upstairs. There was also an incredibly creepy part of the house, a stair case that went up the back of the house.
As kids one of our chores was to hand the laundry out the back window where the line was attached to a tree in the back yard; the window was about two feet off the landing of the stairs so we had to kneel and hang out the window to hang the clothes.
