She twisted the key and opened the door. There was a long steep staircase going down to the cellar, and no way anyone could have gotten down it before she opened the door. There was no one there. As time went on Mom moved the CB from the kitchen to the parlor. In the parlor we had a piano.

It was an upright with no casters. Very heavy. We got it from my grandmother who also lived in Hallowell. One day when she had a couple of CB buddies over they were in the parlor, and they all kept hearing a scraping noise. I was in the living room (I was around ten or eleven by then. ) Mom called me in to see if I could hear it. As I entered the parlor the piano was on my right, and I noticed the closest side was pulled out from the wall around 4
