At a house on River Street the windows open by themselves. A cookie jar flew across the room. We thought we saw a girl Indian style on my step mom's bed. Submitted by Tiara

I spent nine years living in a second floor of an apartment on Hamel Street in Lewiston. When I was little I was very into the paranormal (and I still am) naturally, I always had an eye out for any sort of paranormal activity. One night when I was staying at the neighbor's apartment downstairs I looked over from where I was lying on the floor to see the outline of a cat. I blinked, and it disappeared. After that I recall thinking I saw it multiple times throughout the years. I'd always tell my mom that there was a ghost cat, but she didn't believe me. She said that although she did believe in ghosts, she just didn't think that the house was haunted. I could just tell though, and something about the building just always made me feel as if I were being watched. I didn't believe that the cat ghost was a bad spirit, but I knew it was there never the less.

Finally, in the last year that we lived there, my brother and his friend were sitting in the basement hanging out when his friend suddenly started to panic. My brother asked him what was wrong, and he said that there was a cat behind him. When my brother turned around, there was nothing there. There was no way for any of the neighborhood cats to have gotten in, and my brother's friend had never heard the story of the cat ghost before. After that my mom finally began to believe me. (If you ever live or visit there do not worry though, because not once did the ghost ever cause trouble or harm. ) There was one time that a friend of mine claimed to have seen a tall shadowy figure in the kitchen when she went to get a glass of water late in the night. I am not sure whether or not she was lying, for nobody else ever mentioned having seen him. Submitted by Duncundog

In a small house off Lisbon St. behind where the old McDonalds used to be I used to live... I only lived there for no more then 2 months and this is why.... One night about a couple weeks after me and my boyfriend and our newborn son moved in we were awoken around 2:30-3 am to a crash, it sounded like someone jumped through our glass window. When we finally got enough nerve to look we saw all of our cupboard doors open and all of our dishes were smashed across the kitchen. We tried to explain it in any realistic explanation we could find but none could explain why every cupboard door was open. Maybe if just one was open we could try to explain that but not all 5. Anyways we tried to forget and move on. As we explored our new house we found a cedar closet in the basement which still had some belongings of the last owner of the house (an older lady), which consisted of blankets, old radios that ran off big batteries the size of car batteries. We tried to see if any of the radios worked but none of them did. So we went about our normal life and about a week later I dropped my boyfriend off at work, got home with our baby and the baby had fallen asleep in the car. So I decided to do some laundry, all of a sudden I hear something playing something that was hard to pin point where it was coming from or what it was exactly since there should have been nothing on since we had just gotten home. As I follow the sound which is leading me to the basement I realize the sound is coming from the cedar closet...

Lewiston Maine May or June 1998. It was very clear sky that night. I went out on the porch to smoke a cigarette before bed. I noticed a blinking light...
