I have been summering in New Harbor since I was born. I am from Massachusetts, but I have family who live on the Point, a ten-minute walk to the lighthouse. I have never seen a ghost there personally, but I remember the story of ''Crazy Nancy.'' Apparently there was a house that used to be situated at Pumpkin Cove but was then moved in later years onto Bristol Road almost across from Sunset Hill Road. While the house was at Pumpkin Cove (what must have been

over a hundred years ago) legend has it that 'Nancy' lived there. It was said that some sickness killed off her family, neighbors, and virtually everyone

on Pemaquid Point. Nancy remained alive and could not bury the dead all by herself. She finally went crazy with all the dead bodies around her.
From time to time people, one of them being one of my cousins, would hike around the shore at Pumpkin Cove. Many have said they saw Nancy's ghost peering out of one of the windows of the house while it was there, and while it was supposedly empty. Many years after the house was moved onto Bristol Road in the
