I had lived in this house on Main St, my family was uncharacteristically miserable with one another. You could feel the anger the minute you walked through the door. Soon after living there, we discovered that relatives and our immediate family had the same experiences when in different rooms of the house. One bedroom (spare room) had the heavy footsteps of a man walking beside the bed, indentation could be seen and felt at the bedside. Screams of a woman saying help me would come from the master bedroom, one time my whole family came running in my room to see what was the matter, I was confused because I had been sleeping, this was at 3 am. Everyone but me was awaken by the screams of a woman saying help me! Coming from my room. In the living room I had a Johnny jump up hanging from the doorsill and it would move from side to side with jerky movements, like someone was playing with it.
That house is abandoned now, when I moved into my new house the dreadfulness and anger had gone and I have enjoyed my life and kids so much. That's my story.

Comment by Jim: That house looks like the one Walter Cronkite (the news anchor) had as his summer home there in Palmyra. I'm not sure though. I lived in Palmyra and Newport for a while. Never knew this house was haunted.
Comment by Marion: I do believe an Amish family reside in this house now.
Comment by Holly: An Amish family does live there now. Never knew that place was haunted. Wow.
Comment by anonymous: I used to take care of a woman there. I hated to go in there. It was walking into the room. I was scared in that house.
