There is an old farmhouse on Old South Road, South Berwick that has many ghosts within its walls. I grew up there and had many personal encounters, not knowing the difference between ghosts and regular people as a child. There was a woman in a white dress with black polka dots that was always in the downstairs area between the bathroom and the living room. She could not walk through the door opening into the dining room because it was not there when she was

alive. She had to walk to the end of the hallway and go through the doorway at the front of the house. When we played in the hay loft at the top of the
|
barn as kids, there was hysterical (maniacal) laughter in the stairway, so we would exit the loft through one of the trap doors and climb down the ladder.
Every morning every pan in the cabinets in the kitchen would clang. I would think my mom was downstairs making breakfast, so I would go down, and no one was there. Then the noise would stop upon my stepping on the threshold to the kitchen. There was a man with an indiscernible face that sat on the top of the
