My family and I have lived in the old Westbrook hospital for the past eight years. We have all seen so many things! Also after new neighbors move in they find out and generally move out. The last few years all the tenants have stayed on. Seems to me that activity only tends to heighten if the landlord makes changes to the building or removes things that have been here in the basement since it was a hospital. This building and the one beside it used

to be connected, but if you bring up ghosts unless you live in one of the two buildings, people tend to clam up.

I used to live on Lewis Street and when I had friends over late we saw about 10 different figures go through my hallway. Also I've been shoved off a little ledge near my stairs.

My boyfriend and I rent an apartment in Westbrook on a side street off Maine Street. We kept having strange occurrences. We eventually asked our landlord if anyone else has ever said anything about the house being haunted. She informed us that a man hanged himself in the basement back in the 90s. I proved it to be true by finding his obituary and that other tenants have reported strange things. We always hear things see things (sometimes full body apparitions) and smell things. We have heard laughter lying in bed in the middle of the night. I've had things thrown at me and pictures fly across the room right in front of me.
