I spent the night at one of the motels in Gorham along with my husband and eight year old daughter. It was room number 3. I shared one bed with my little girl while my husband sprawled over the other one.
There was a work crew staying in the rooms nearby but they were a fairly quiet group of neighbors. I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard someone very clearly say my name. I thought it was my husband but his snores were the only response I got from his side of the room.

I could hear a train in the distance and it was really eerie... Possibly from the whistle having an echo off the mountains. I focused on the sound for a few minutes and was quite convinced I could hear the release of steam.

When I rolled over to try to get back to sleep I saw an elderly gentlemen standing between the two beds smiling at me. He was wearing a very old fashioned suit with wide green stripes; something from the forties I think.
I pulled the blanket over my head and did my best to block out the trains and the feeling of being watched. We only stayed the one night.
