the chained link area is huge bush growth, extremely high and thick. This little boy was blonde and had on shorts, and a little short sleeved shirt that was stripped. I knew he was too young to go down the stairs near the pond. I was on the other side of the track, and began to yell to him ''hey! Don't go down there. Listen to me.'' I was screaming at him. He never looked at me once, ever! He proceeded to walk down the cement stairs onto the beach area.

I was in full blown running. I was now going to be right on his heals. I ran down those stairs so fast, looked to the right and left, and straight across

to the water, like maybe he went into the water. He could have been drowning. I then looked along the bushes. They are so thick; you cannot get into them. He disappeared! I thought I lost my mind when I saw him as clear as day, and then he was gone in a second after hitting the first couple of stairs.
I am a runner from the 80s. I did not lose this kid. He disappeared! I was so freaked out by this experience. I never went back. When my nephew got older,
