Legend has it that back in the 1940s a newly married couple tried to make a go at growing and harvesting cranberries. Things were looking good for them until the husband received a draft notice. The wife said she would keep the farm going while waiting for him to return. A year later she received notice that he was killed in a bombing raid over Germany.
It is said that she was later found dead while tending the bogs. Some say she died due to a broken heart. These old abandoned bogs are behind our house. If you walk out in the early autumn morning with a heavy coat of fog, you can sometimes see her kneeing down tending the bogs waiting for her husband return.

It was on S. Meadow Road where I stopped to help a broken down ghost car in 2009. I told my friends and co-workers about my ghost encounter in Carver , but no one believed me. It was late at night when I drove home from work that night. As I passed Canterberry Drive on my right, I saw ahead of me on the shoulder I car with a hood up. There was a woman and a young boy standing beside the car. They looked like they needed help.
I parked and got out of the car. I asked them (standing by my car) ''Do you need help?'' The woman said ''No, thank you. My husband is on his way. '' I asked again ''Are you sure?'' She smiled and said ''Thank you. '' So I got into my car and was about to pull out to the road. I looked in my rear view mirror, and the woman and the child was not there any more. I got out of there real fast. Never stop again. .
