I used to live in a house on Main Street (Route 20) in Sturbridge, MA. It is the house near Micknuck's on the other side of the Blackington Building. It was built in 1776 and throughout the course of its over 220- year history was everything from a tavern to a business office to now being rented to young adults. The day before my friend and I moved in during the summer of 1998, we called the landlord to verify that we would meet him the next morning

to pay our first and last month's rent and to get the keys. The next day, we went in on the side porch, and the door immediately inside opened. It was

our first time meeting the downstairs tenant and he was mad at us already!
He told us it was rude to make all the noise we did banging and walking around the night before. He thought we were moving our things in and not being very quiet doing so. There was a little problem with his complaint. We had JUST received our keys for the FIRST time and were on our way up the porch steps to the second floor apartment to actually move our things in.
