outside for thirty minutes until the power came back on. The phone would ring and when people would answer it, it sounded like a really bad connection where the voice on the other end was coming through faintly and garbled. This happened to me several times.
Supposedly, and I say this because I find it odd that they did this, the fire department had run their hose through one of the windows to wash out the blood and didn't think about the two

doors to the shack opening inward, so they had to wait until the water slowly seeped out to be able to open them. Call it swelling if you like, but at

seemingly random times, whoever was working the gate would go to open the door, and it wouldn't budge for upwards of a minute. Of course, we'd open and close the door several times and it not so much as rubbed the frame. People attributed this to the flooding of the shack by the fire department. We were allowed to have radios to listen to, and the reception would fade in and out and/or another station would talk/play over the station you were tuned in
