June 14, 2014. Royalston, MA. I was sitting at the computer on the sun porch, enjoying a cup of tea. While typing, I began to notice a repeating almost guttural ''cough'' sound coming. It seemed it was coming through the woods behind my home.
''Cough''......... ''cough''........... ''cough''.......... ''cough''..........
The sound became louder as it came closer. I stopped what I was doing and began to scan the woods, fields, and sky to see if

I could see what was making such an unusual sound.
A large ''bird-thing'' slowly glided into view on the left side of my back yard, just at the

lowest tree-line. It was about the size of a very large hawk, had a crane's head/neck/bill and was slowly gliding, occasionally giving a flap of its wings to stay aloft. There was a robin-sized bird flying frantically in front of it and heading for the trees, I presumed to escape this creature, whose neck was outstretched a bit, as if to catch the bird, but it didn't seem to be trying very hard to do so. This creature's wings were shaped like a bird's wings,
