When I was growing up we rented a home on Old Sturbridge Road. It was an old farm house dating from the 19th century. Immediately upon moving in we began experiencing supernatural phenomena. The hallway light would turn itself on and off when all of us were in the living room. None of our animals would go upstairs by themselves. If we brought them upstairs they would run downstairs as soon as we let go of them. There was a cold spot in the center of

the upstairs hallway and a stain that soaked through fresh paint four times in one of the upstairs rooms. One of my sisters had the blankets fly off her

bed while she was lying in bed reading.
Several people visiting had experiences where machines animated themselves when they were not even plugged in, a typewriter and an electric organ, notably. We stayed in that house for five years out of simple necessity. The house was tied up in an estate, and the rent was cheap. We were poor and could not afford a full house anywhere else in town.
After we moved out, at least three families moved in
