Was the porcelain face doll from Amy's' room!! After this find all dreams of the girl stopped for both Ethel and Amy. A year later the family moved back to Connecticut, Ethel passed away and as far as I know....
The stagecoach still sits in the basement of the barn in Reading.

When I was 13 years old my mother bought the house on Wright st. The house that stands at this site was built over the original homestead of Timothy Wright the elder and was built in 1720. The Street bears his family name.

In 1970 my mom bought the house from an elderly woman whose name was McWilliams. Her Maiden name was Wright and this house had remained in the family from 1720 to 1970 when our family moved into it.
On the night we first slept in the house we went up to bed very early worn out from a long day of moving. It seemed like I had just fallen asleep when there was a loud noise from the first floor and my mom and grandmother got up with a flashlight (the house had no light switches on the walls only chains that hung from a single light in the center of the hallway) went downstairs and the kitchen table was on the floor with the legs out away from the tabletop! Many nights we heard the stairs leading up to the attic creaking then the sound of footsteps moving across the floor overhead.
Of course there was never anyone around to explain the noises. I moved out of the house in 1974 but my step-father lived in the house until sometime after 2000.. & the noises continued up to his departure; and quite possibly to this day!.
