Comment by Jessica: Wow! I live the next street over. Which house on Polley Lane? (Is it the one that has current construction/addition going on presently the backs up to bird park?) If so, do you know there was a murder right behind there in the wooded area? I'd love to know more. Do you know any history of the home?.

Comment by L: Just FYI- the mansion isn't on Polly Lane (at least the mansion I believe you are referring to- the old stone one? Unless there was previously a mansion on that street years ago?) Polly is the short Street that is parallel to Bird Park. The houses there are very typical to the area even on the smaller side.

Clark Pond in Walpole has a dark hidden secret. Years ago when I was a kid one night a passing through car ran over and killed a pedestrian on the street that passes the pond. In a panic the driver of the car dumped the victim in the pond and sped away.
The reason they knew this was that there was a witness who saw it but was too afraid to intervene. The witness didn't get the plate of the car so the car and the driver was never found. But the pond has been haunted ever since the event.
You can see the ghost of Clark Pond in the very late hours of the night if you go there. You will see a dark silhouette emerging from the pond and it looks like it's reaching out for something and then it vanishes.
