I have to say that I do not, in general, believe in ghosts. Never have. There was one night, though, that I experienced something that I never want to experience again. I was driving from my home in west Bridgewater towards Brockton to go to the 24-hour CVS on Main Street. While driving down Elm Street, (maybe still North Elm?) I came up on a woman in a white dress walking in the same direction I was driving, with her head down and her left hand extended.

It seemed she has hitching a ride. I had no intention of stopping for a hitchhiker to begin with, but I felt the worst chill come over my entire body.

I have absolutely NEVER felt anything like this! Goosebumps all over my body, my hair tingling and standing up, and a strange twisting sick feeling in my stomach. I averted my eyes as I drove past her. Then, I looked in my rearview mirror, and she was gone. There were no cars coming behind me, so there were no headlights to obscure my view, and the road has street lights that were lit. She was just gone.
