uneasy. Back when we lived on the first floor apartment, there was a narrow hallway that connected the living room to the master bedroom and front door.

At night when the hall lights were off, it was terrifying. My parents have told me that when I was first starting to speak, they couldn't ever get a response out of me, but every night at 8:37 pm like clockwork, I pointed from my highchair down that hallway and yelled, ''Charlie!'' or another similar attempt.
They would also be feeding me, and my gaze would slowly shift to the hallway, and I would start smiling like a crazy person. As I started to grow up, they
