I went to Girls Inc years ago and back in 2005 I stayed overnight there for a sleepover they were hosting. It was my first one at that place and we were playing hide and go seek in the dark. My friend and I were ''it'' along with another girl.
We finished counting and turned towards the dark hallway. The only light came from the office and the bathroom so we had reasonable lighting. A little girl with long hair in a white nightgown was walking down the hall.

She didn't look familiar but we shouted ''we see you! '' and she kept walking as if she didn't hear us. We followed her confused. We thought she was alive. She pushed open the bathroom door and light filled the hallway then it swung shut behind her.

We followed her inside the small bathroom. No one was in there and there was no window or other door to get out. We all looked at each other in disbelief and went to find the other kids who freaked us out after we were already rattled by making sounds in the dark.
They thought we were making it up but the three of us know what we saw. Years later another friend of mine heard from a friend of hers who had never heard the story that a girl had hung herself in that same Girls Inc on Winthrop street.
I believe it's a residual haunting.
