the car off to the side of the road and walked a short way back to the cemetery. When they arrived at the gate, the girl was gone, but her doll was lying on top of one of the headstones. Mother feared the girl may be hiding and in need of help. The two friends ventured into the graveyard and back to the corner where they had seen the young girl. When they arrived at the headstone where they had seen the doll from the road, it was gone, as was the little

girl and any trace of her. Mother looked at the headstone and read the name ''Joanna'', the inscription indicated that she was about six to seven years
|
old at the time of her death more than one hundred years ago. My mother gasped, as her name is also Joanna! The little girl was gone; her doll was gone, but for some reason she had reached out beyond the grave to catch my mother's attention. As I said, I still look for her each time I pass by.
