In the late 1990s I worked for a traveling group which had a temporary office in the mill. One night my intern and I were working late, and we heard the dragging of furniture above us on the top floor. We took the elevator up to the floor, and it was an open area with some furniture around the perimeter of the room as the space was clearly used for storage. We went back down to the office, and the dragging began once again but louder and stronger this

time. We decided that it was time to depart for the evening and never worked from there again.

The mill dam is haunted. Apparently there was an accidental drowning death there some time back and the dam has been haunted ever since. If you go there and listen to the roaring water and you focus your attention you can make out screams for help midst the water roar.
I've tried to record the sound and analyze it on a computer but gotten nowhere. Also I'm not able to hear the screams in the recording although I could hear the screams when I recorded. Maybe my equipment is inadequate.
I recommend going there and listening.

Comment by anonymous: The sound of water has that effect on your hearing. It's nothing unusual but can be freaky. Sometimes when I was in the shower washing my hair I could swear I heard my parents come home and even hear them talking in the next room. Then when I turned the shower off there was no one there, and all was quiet.
