The southern tip of Cobbetts Pond is a haunted place. When the lake freezes over in winter and there's fresh snow on the ice you can sometimes see footprints appearing without anyone being there. Even more remarkable is that the footprints are of bare feet.
No one goes barefoot on a frozen lake. Go there after a fresh snowfall and you will see the bare footprints. If you're super lucky you will see them being formed in front of your eyes. I'm guessing

someone drowned here in the summertime when people are barefoot and the haunts the location.
