I was at my house in Lake Wentworth with my husband and I heard a knock on my back door. I went to answer but nothing was there. I was confused but figured it was probably some kid pranking me. A few hours later the same thing happened; only this time my dog barked like a crazy man for about two seconds and then just stopped.|
Then around midnight the exact same thing happened again waking me up. I got up very tired went to the door and shouted ''stop!
'' When I went back upstairs my bed was covered in blood. My husband was still alive though and he was very confused and scared.|
He said that he'd
heard strange whispering. We left the next day.|

I stayed at an inn in Wolfeboro every weekend for 2 months. Initially I stayed in the 2-year-old renovated area. I heard footsteps and doors closing all night long. When I stayed in the 'old section' rooms in addition to hearing footsteps (constantly) and doors closing (one after the other) all night long, there was random knocking and banging on the wall and low voices. There was a definite presence in the room too. There are no rooms next to one particular room that I stayed, with all the noise you would think there was. Upon speaking with the staff they have had numerous complaints about the noise, and some said they felt a presence at times also. One staff member reported lights being turned on and off and doors being closed as they were cleaning the rooms. Another said they were gathering liquor from the basement to restock the bar, and found what they had gathered was put back on the shelf. Another said they saw images in doorways/hallways while doing ground checks during night shift. The spirits are definitely very active at this inn.

Comment by Djsk: I live in Wolfeboro. Which inn are you referring to? The Tuck-Me-Inn? I've heard that place was haunted ever since I moved here like 10 years ago, and I've always wanted to stay there! Anyway nice article happy ghost hunting - #djskrecords.
