This isn't really a ghost sighting but more of a paranormal experience. We moved to Belvidere when I was around 8 years old and lived in an old house on Paul Street. This house is so old the Historical Society doesn't have any information on when it was built. They believe it was built around 1820-1860.
Anyway my experience occurred in the basement. There was something wrong with that basement. Every time I went down there it just felt wrong and evil. It always

felt like something was staring at me. I hated it. I would walk back up the stairs and was always looking behind me never turning away. This feeling never

went away even when I was a teenager.
My brother experienced the same thing. I eventually moved away to Virginia, and when I would come home to visit my parents I had really no reason to go down there. My parents just sold the house 2 years ago (2018), and my brother and I went home to help my dad pack the last of their items. There was a wooden pole in the basement holding up some support beams with some names etched in it, so my brother and
