When I was a kid my family moved into this two-family house by the high school. I won't reveal the address, but it was a creepy place. My parents, sister, and I were on the first floor, and we would hear footsteps and faucets turning on upstairs when no one was living there. We'd also see some freaky things on our floor.
There was one time when my sister and I were cleaning out her room when we suddenly saw a white mist zooming from the bathroom to

our parents' bedroom. We ran down the hallway screaming to our mom about what we saw. There was one instance where my mom went downstairs to do the laundry.

As she had gotten to the washing machine, she heard a heavy breathing behind her. Then as she turned around, she said it was like a cold mist went right through her. After that she felt really depressed. The next day she went down there again and yelled at whatever it was. It didn't bother her after that.
One instance that has really stuck with me was in my bedroom. My bed was in the middle of the room in front of the sliding closet. As I was trying to sleep,
