A lot of people don't know about this but the quarry by Hofstra Park is haunted by Native American spirits. There was a native burial ground at the location they dug up and now that quarry is haunted.
If you throw a stick of wood into the quarry as far as you can and close your eyes you will feel a gentle push. That's one of the spirits telling you not to disturb them. You have to be spiritually open for this to work.

this ''yeah right'' kind of attitude and for them it didn't work. Just open your mind and it will work.

Comment by Chris: The quarry behind the tennis courts was extremely haunted. But there are now condos built over the land. I was with a friend back around maybe 2004 or 2005. We were sitting on a large rock near tennis courts with a Hawthorne resident, and then appeared the hat man. Green glowing transparent full on apparition, so now my friend and I know ghosts are real. I got my verification.
