I lived in a home on West Oakland Avenue in Oakland, NJ. In 2000 I was awakened by the sounds of footsteps running over my head. My bedroom was in the basement of a four-family home. Above me were my two daughters who both had their own rooms. Every night I would put the baby monitor on when it was time for me to go to sleep, so I can listen for my kids. You can hear a pin drop in that baby monitor.
On this particular night, I heard no sound, no

scuffle. There was just the sound of those footprints running over my head. I jumped out of my bed and ran up the stairs stopping short in the doorway

of the living room. Staring in disbelief, my five-year-old daughter was sound asleep in the middle of the floor. She was sound asleep with all her blankets, pillow, and bed sheets. Surrounded in a complete circle of all the dolls and Teddy bears that were in the house. This included dolls she would not be able to reach. I woke her up quickly calling her name. She had no recollection of how she got there. I scooped her and my other daughter and put them
