I lived in Paulsboro for over 20 years. One house I grew up in scares me a bit. My brother slept in the attic but strangely it was cold in the summer. I mean cold. My mom told me she saw a ghost of a woman crying and even saw her in the attic window. Submitted by Joseph

I live in Paulsboro, NJ on Billings Avenue. I've lived here for 5 years now and have never really had any ''experiences'' of the paranormal kind. Well, not until the past few weeks or so for some odd reason. I'm not saying I don't believe. I'm kind of on the fence or at least I was. I grew up in Runnemede in the second oldest house in the town that was over 125 years old that needless to say had some spooks going on. (Nothing like what's happened to me recently, but you know noises maybe a voice or hearing footsteps. It was more annoying when you were trying to sleep than really scary. )

I've never seen an apparition or ghost or what not in my life. I have never been touched, hurt, scratched or whatever, and honestly I've often scoffed at such stories. That is until the past few months when my house has gone bat crazy for no reason at all. It started around Christmas. I went into the basement where, I've got to be honest, I never felt comfortable down there which is odd because my bedroom was in my parents' creepy basement, and I never felt like that. I went down there to check our oil and click this thingie on the oil heater. I swear on my life there was a dimming of the lights, and it flickered a bit. It sounded like little feet running through puddles behind me. (By little I mean like REALLY little. )

I don't know how our basement wasn't leaking, and there were no puddles down there. Also our cats REFUSE to go down there. I froze of course because I was kind of freaked out. I felt like every hair stood up on my whole body, lol. Then BOOM the light bulbs over my head got Hella bright and exploded. Glass hit me on the head and face. It went everywhere and I screamed, lol. I started crying, and I ran for the steps. As I got half way up the stairs, it felt like something grabbed my ankles and pulled real quick not a lot of contact, but I definitely felt it, and I slid on my belly all the way down to the bottom of my steps.
I have never been more scared in my whole life. I finally got up and ran up the steps, crying and yelling for my son who was in the living room. I slammed and locked the door and called my husband to come home immediately because I think someone was in our house. I even called the cops! I was so freaked out. Needless to say, I looked stupid because nothing was there. The light bulb was broken, but nothing else was out of order, and I seemed to of lost my mind lol. I laughed it off, sort of. A few days later stuff went back to normal for a few days anyways.
A few days later my husband was working late. I was up alone. Everyone was sleeping, and I saw shadows under my door where the light came through. I tried to ignore it and stopped looking over there for like twenty minutes when I heard a bang in the hallway like someone was opening and closing the bathroom door. I started feeling scared and tried scientifically explaining what it was because that's what I do, but it kept getting louder and louder. Then the shadows got right up to where my door was, and I heard scratching. It was my cats. They were in my room, and honestly they looked scared too. My older cat was even growling, and that was when I once again panicked and called my husband. I said ''THERE'S GOT TO BE SOMEONE IN HERE. COME HOME!'' I was going to call the cops and had my finger on 911, but I soon saw headlights in the driveway. My husband came in panicked as I was, and again I looked stupid because no one saw it but me.
