I live in Patillas, a peaceful place in the south coast of Puerto Rico. While growing up my mom and grandmother always told me that at midnight in ''la via'' (la via means railroad) you could hear a children's cry.
The story began in the 1930 when the train used to pass where now is called ''la via'', a kid was walking by the railroad and the train ran him over. It is said that the remains of the boy were put in a shoe box.
I thought this was fake

and that my mom and grandmother told me that to scare me. But that changed last year. At midnight I heard a loud sob and I remember my body starting shaking.

Now I believe my grandmother's word.
