When I was a child we were awakened one night by a loud crash behind the house. My father went to check and told us to stay with my mom and stay quiet. He came back a few minutes later looking as if he had seen a ghost.
He told us to go back to bed and never talk about this ever. He never told us what he had seen and we didn't think much of it. But then he died exactly one year after this happened of a sudden heart attack.
The day before he died

he told us that in case something ever happens to him we must take care of each other and always love each other no matter what.
