During the 60's there was a lot of stories told to me by my granma who lived all her life in La playa De Ponce but one of the tales I always remember is the one about this mother who always screamed at her 3 daughters and send them to get water food, and wash the clothes in the sanjon (small canal) but when they would not reach home when they were told she would tell them the devil will take them so the girls always returned home as told until one

day they were late and the mother looked all over but couldn't find them late that night there was a loud thump on top of the house and screams the mother

ran out looking for help and the neighbors climbed the house to see and there they were all three daughters scratched mutilated and dead with a note that said ''i came to get them the devil''.

First excuse my English then my second contribution. I have already said I was born and raised in the ''caracoles'' neighborhood in Ponce p. R. When I was a little boy before 1963 ( Kennedy's assassination ) this story is in my memory: might be February or March 1961 / 62 ; men were away working in the sugar cane plantation or at the docks women were in charge of everything in the household. Houses were build on long wood columns and poultry was raised in the space under the houses. A lot OK the kept for animals began to be found up dead every morning. There was no rational explanation for these. But these ladies were not easy to fool they decided that they were to keep watch on what was happening. Long story made short : after Mrs. M. Mrs. H. And Mrs. R. Where a couple days on watch something very unusual happened ; wee hours the morning sudden silence dogs winning away of the ''patio'' (batey) ;cats hissing out poultry in hushed ''clucks'' enough for the moms to move on!! .
