This is a little outside of Brattleboro, Vermont- as in- Guilford,Vermont.
Not ten minutes into Guilford, you're into its territory. Dark as night, with a goat's head and a deer body. (No, we're not making it up. Numerous of others have seen it.) It stalks the woods, and it has found its home somewhere near the cemetery up the hill from The Guilford Free Library. It began a few weeks ago, when a resident of all of her years decided to walk the old trail

up to see a family member that was buried there. She was on her way back when all around her started to get dark.

found herself stumbling into the woods. Quickly she looked behind her to see it there. She ran through the woods trying to keep away from it, but no matter how fast she was, she could hear it moving. Fallen branches crunching under its hooves as growls emanated. She finally got out of the woods and ran as fast as she could. It stopped at the edge of the woods. She could see it there for awhile. It stood still for awhile before moving around and then heading
