Hi... My name is Roger Roy. I worked at the hotel in the late 70s for a woman named Vicki. I cleaned out the back section of the hotel before it was torn down. I found letters in the walls dating back to 1880s. Never was I spooked or otherwise but did feel like something was there. Submitted by anonymous

Island Pond or Brighton as it is also called is a very haunted place. The town is small but has a lot of tragedies from fires and floods to Indian curses and fatal accidents. I can confirm the largest hotel now called the Green Mountain Lodge is haunted by several entities including a small boy, a crazy man who runs along the upper hallways, and a woman on the roof who is seen on winter nights throwing herself from the cupola. I know too that the Masonic Lodge on Mountain Street is haunted by a small dark figure who is seen scuttling along the side of the small white building. And there is a house along the road leading out of town that has a basement where black magic rituals were performed. This has resulted in poltergeists and other disturbances that causes renters to leave pretty fast. Myself I've seen the spooky shadowy figures that walk along near the end of the lake. They are rumored to be the spirits of Indians. All in all, Island Pond is a spooky little black hole. It's like a village trapped in time. The problem is there are too many cemeteries in the town and not enough people to make the town feel lively.

There used to be an inn (b&b) called JL Chesters. It was on Mountain Street across from the new bridge. My family ran it and we heard multiple stories from the locals in the village (Island Pond) and from the guests. The odd thing was that the stories all were similar. Unsure if the place is still ''haunted'' if you want to call it that, because we had the priest from the church next door bless the entire house. When odd things did happen, they included what we counted up to 16 spirits.
