I have lived here in Pawlet for 28 years and grew up in near by West Danby where I also saw ghosts, but that is another story. In the house I lived in on Rte 30 I would hear the cupboards open at the time my son would normally get up to go to work. I would say ''good he's up.'' But I would go to the kitchen and there was no son. I would check his room, and the door would be still closed, and I would hear a snore. I was also followed by a man who

would follow me into the basement and back up. I could hear his footsteps behind me. They were heavier. I told him to leave me alone, and he yelled ''no.''

I was alone. Husband was at work and kids in school or at work. I was freaked, but you learn to live with them. .
