We owned a home for forty years on Canoe Brook Road in Putney, Vermont. About twelve years ago on a pitch black night about 2 am my wife and I were sleeping, and I was awoken by a rustling sound at the foot of our bed. It moved back and forth. From the sound and movement I felt it was a small light little person. I felt to my right to see if my wife was walking. She wasn't; she was sleeping. I then stared and saw at the foot of our bed a white small ghostly figure.

It was in the shape of a small girl or woman about 5-foot tall. I looked at it for about a couple of minutes. It just stayed in one spot to the left side

at the bottom of our bed. I blinked my eyes a few times, but it wasn't my eyes. It then faded away after a couple of minutes. Please keep in mind it was pitch black that night. A few seconds later I heard light footsteps upstairs above our heads back and forth for about a couple of minutes.
Finally I went to my fireplace and grabbed a heavy brass fire poker. I started to walk upstairs telling whatever it was that I had it, that I need my sleep, and
