I am a worker for habitat human in Ellendale. It's a little pathway that goes to a corn field. No one believes me, but you can here a man's voice clearly and a little girl screaming. Since then I quit my job and stay away from Ingram Village.|

As a kid I had often heard stories of paranormal activity throughout my family. I am going to tell of a story my mom told me about her own experience.
She was about eighteen years old and just sitting in her room folding clothes. As she went to put them in her dresser, she heard someone say ''What are you doing?'' She blamed her brother, who was twelve at the time. The problem was her brother was nowhere in sight. She has told my sister and me this story multiple times, and nothing strange had happened in that house until my great-grandparents died about twenty-five years ago. My aunt was thirteen at the time of her experience, and she was five at the time of my great-grandmother's death. My great-grandfather died not long after that. Anyway, my aunt was in her room, and she heard two people talking amongst themselves. She wouldn't sleep in that room for a long time after that.
I had my own experience in that house when I was nine. My grandfather died when I was four, and my parents were moving stuff that was still sitting in that house. I was standing at the top of the old staircase, and all of a sudden I saw my grandfather at the bottom of the stairs, still wearing his old John Deer hat, smiling up at me. That night I dreamt about him. I told my mother about this experience, and she nearly started crying. That is some of the experiences that has happened at a house that burned down in 2010. Guess what, the staircase, the same one that I saw my pop-pop on, was the last thing standing in that fire. When the people that my mom sold the property to took the debris to the junkyard, it set that on fire too. That house would not go down without a fight. I hope the people that burned down a 98-year-old house are haunted out of it.

Comment by Anonymous: 2010 eh? I lived in Lincoln, a small part that people sometimes just consider Ellendale. I live by a house that was burned down. It looked like it burned down a couple of years ago. There's actually another abandoned house by it, literally right next to it. It looked like it was abandoned at right around like Christmas maybe a few years ago also. Me and my friend discovered this place. It was incredible. It was creepy, and it seemed like it had a cool interesting story behind it.
I was wondering if the house you speak of in this story is the same house I live near. I've always wanted to know about it. It's also near a mill; it's very old. It's also very big, like if you stood in it, it would probably cascade beneath your feet. While we were looking in the other houses we also looked in this mill. It creepily had a headless deer in it. I remember peeking above the top floor, and it must have had more floors above it. My friend didn't want to look because she was scared it would fall apart. I was really curious tho. This was a few months ago, and I still think about this place.
Another thing that creeped me a little was there was a military helmet on the front step of the burnt down house. There were also all kinds of left behind things, like toys, pots and plates, etc. But what I'll never forget about the place, is when my friend and I were walking away from this place, we heard beating, like someone beating a stick against something. We thought it could've been someone or something that would harm us, so we ran out of there. But I'll never forget it. There was also a barn by the houses. I just find it ironic that the locations are the same, and all the abandoned houses I've seen, this is the only burnt down one I know about. .
