I grew up in Pine Bush in Albany N. Y. We lived in a house that was reputed to be haunted by the ghost of the old man who built it. For years I had dreams where the ghost of the old man appeared to me and beckoned me to follow him to his burial site.
They finally stopped when I was about seventeen. Then for some strange reason one day while I was camping with my family at the age of nineteen the ghost of the old man appeared in the camp

where we were staying.
I was looking in the bathroom mirror slick ing back my hair when I smelled the smoke from a pipe. I looked into the mirror and

he was standing there. It was the ghost of the old man in my dreams from a few years ago.
He had a pipe in his mouth and smoke was circulating around the room. I could smell the scent of the tobacco. He was looking at me through the reflection in the mirror. I turned suddenoly and he disappeared.
The lingering smell of his tobacco remained. That was the final and last time I saw the apparition. I am almost 67 years old but still remember that event.
