When I was younger I used to live in Colonie. I don't remember exactly what part because we don't talk much about it. But I do remember we lived near a baseball park that had a playground with a large silver slide. Anyway, I lived in Colonie until I was 4. It was an apartment building that used to be a one-family house. We lived in the top floor, and my mom's best friend lived below us. Strange things would always happen. The temperature would drastically change randomly. When we were at my mom's friend's, we could hear clear footsteps in our own apartment.

One day when I was about 2 I came to my mom and started going on about stuff that ''The Man'' told me. My mom was confused and checked to see what I was watching on TV. The TV wasn't on, and I was saying he was right there pointing at the window. I wasn't scared at all. There were a couple more encounters with ''The Man'' over the course of a year. Then one night, my dad told me to get ready for bed, so I went to my room. I came screaming out of my room to my dad screaming ''he's in there. He's in my room . He's going to hurt me in my room. '' My dad picked me up and walked toward my room, and I was screaming at him saying ''he's going to hurt you in my room!'' I got so scared I crawled down my dad's back. Finally my mom rocked me to sleep until I saw his face in the fire escape window and started screaming again. My mom told him to go away and that he's not welcome here. It happened again. We later found out a man had committed suicide in that house.

If you go to the park under the Patron Island Bridge and you go early in the morning you might be lucky enough to see the River Ghost. The stories about the River Ghost are true. You go down there in the morning and bring a candle. You take the candle down to the river and stick it in the ground and light it. Sit down and wait and before too long if the river ghost decides to show itself you will see it as a cloudy outline of a person over the water in front of the candle.
