In 1802 a federal government official David Weatherby drowned in the river under strange and mysterious circumstances and was found on the shore about 100 yards north of where the bridge is today. He was probably murdered by someone who wanted to hide something Weatherby was about expose. David Weatherby kept coming around as a ghost after his death on the shores of the river, both sides. I saw him once in the 1980s, I though he was dressed up crazy for
