As you all probably know, Grand Island is home to Whitehaven Cemetery, a locally famous haunted cemetery. People are still being buried there. A few friends and I decided to go to the cemetery at night in hopes of some paranormal activity. We expected to maybe hear some strange noises and perhaps catch some orbs on camera, but we didn't expect to see a full apparition of sorts.

We saw a full black figure of a man in a hat standing by a tree. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, or it was some stationary figure such as a statue or something, but then the mass began to transform right in front of our eyes. Then we were simply looking at a black orb like thing. We quickly left. I returned a few months later with a different friend who was hoping to see what we had seen. Surely enough he got what he wanted. We could see with the naked eye a black human size figure heading towards us. Neither of us was brave enough to let it get close enough to truly examine, so we ran to the car and left. Whitehaven is haunted and so is an inn next door!.

Comment by Heather: Some of my family is buried there. One day I was riding my bike past High School aged and wanted to stop at my dad's grave. I stopped and stood there but felt my instincts saying it was dangerous and figured it must be haunted. I would not go alone. I didn't even know it was said to be haunted at the time. Obviously it is spooky with old graves.
A short time later I heard about how my mom's friend and her daughter went to visit a grave, and they reported seeing the exact same figure you described!! Same spot! They didn't think too much of it, but when her daughter left and got in her car that man was all of a sudden walking to her car window!! Thank God, I decided to not go in alone. It doesn't sound like the most docile of spirits to say the least. (Though I wouldn't trust any spirit except the holy one!!).
