I also know of several houses in Oneonta where there are ghosts. I live in one. There are things around us we can't see. There are those that want company, lost sprits.

When I worked at the American Legion on Chestnut St I was always being touched by someone but no one was in the building with me. The ghost would yell at bartenders, and even a Vietnam veteran in the cellar. He was violent at times throwing pots and pans. Then one day I saw a man leaning on a table in the dining room..

He was resting his head on his right arm and the other arm on the table. He had blond hair and beige clothes; then he vanished.

I was driving through Neahwa Park this month (June 2014,) and I saw an older man standing facing me on the other side of the playground equipment (thankfully no kids there at the time.) He had gray hair, no shirt, army-like green pants, and no feet. It's like he was standing, but you couldn't see his feet though the ground was visible and no shadow. I almost wrecked the car when I saw this, and I kind of slammed the brakes on. As I was looking (not taking my eyes off him,) he saluted me like I was a superior officer or something. Then he turned and walked off. As he walked I saw his legs moving but still no feet, and he literally just vanished before my eyes. He didn't step behind a tree or anything, just simply disappeared. I'm kind of scared of the place now. I've also heard some people since then talk about seeing a rake or demon in the park at sunset. My incident happened in the afternoon, but it was overcast.

Comment by Sherri: I'm the one that submitted this. I'd like to add something I didn't think of before. When he walked off it was in the direction of the Veterans Memorial. Given this and the army-green pants and the salute I have to wonder if he was a veteran or something.
