When I was 4 years old we had a house fire at my house on Green St. The bottom floor was gutted and my dad was a volunteer fireman for the village at the time. The 1st weird thing that happened was while my dad was fighting the blaze his partner left him on the hose by himself (his partner left him alone on the hose because he thought he heard my dad call him from another room).
Following this incident my parents decided to fix up the house. While working on the house after the blaze my dad and the neighbor heard someone walking down the stairs stepping on glass and soot, when they turned around there was no one there.

On another occasion my aunt who was a preteen at the time was playing in the house while work was being done on it, she and her best friend heard someone calling their names. They thought it was my dad playing a joke but they looked out a window to see my whole family eating lunch way out in the backyard (including my dad).

After the fire my very religious great grandmother was very curious to see what the house looked like after the fire. When she went to see the house she walked up to the front door and stopped dead in her tracks.
My parents asked her what was up, as she turned from the front door she said ''there is something evil in this house I will not go in''. After all was all said and done with the insurance co. my parents vacated the repairs on the property.
The house sat vacant for a couple of years, finally a new owner started to work on the house.. After a little while those folks also stopped their work on the home. My parents ran in to these new owners at the local market, they asked the new owners why they had stopped working on the place and they were shy about responding.
