My wife, infant daughter, and I recently relocated to Watertown as I was stationed at Fort Drum. Always being open to the after-life and the possibility of lingering spirits I was weary of moving into our home which was in close proximity to the hospital and in an area of town with many old homes and somewhat of a checkered history throughout the decades. My wife took on a side job as a receptionist to make ends meet and I found myself home with my daughter

on one of my off days.
I had just put her down for a nap and had sat down to enjoy a few cold brews when I heard her chuckling in her room. This

was not necessarily uncommon for her to amuse herself so I proceeded to check up on her (in retrospect the slightest feeling of malevolence and unease lingered in my subconscious). Upon reaching about ten feet from her doorway, the laughing ceased.
As much as I hate to admit, a fleeting thought to turn around and leave my home immediately crossed my mind but my responsibility as a father and a macabre sort of curiosity propelled me further. As
