While every single county in the region has urban legends of Indian burial grounds nearby or under a well known structure, it's kind of surprising and refreshing that one of the only places that it's an actual fact doesn't really incorporate it much into the local ghost lore, but I thought I'd throw it up here for the enthusiast.
Pretty much right in the middle of an eerie suburb northeast of the zoo and directly south of Presque Isle, it's

actually pretty well recorded by the historical society that there was an Indian burial ground belonging to the former eerie tribe as well as a possible
|
burial mound often also associated with the eerie but likely predating them by hundreds if not thousands of years and likely having been built by the same culture responsible for the Sugar Run mound in Warren, Pa and the North Benton and Turner's mounds in North Benton and Kent Oh- either the New York Hopewell or their later descendants whom the eerie chased out of the region approximately between the years 1100-1300 AD.
